This healthy creton made with lentils and different spices is perfect to make ahead.
Lentils are a great way to get nutrients in your body. They are easy to prepare, readily available and very versatile.
1. In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the oil and add the onion and garlic. Sauté for about 4 minutes or until onion is tender.
2. Add the tamari sauce, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and lentils. Season to taste with Herbamare® and pepper, mix well and cook for about 5 minutes.
3. Add the vegetable broth. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for about 25 minutes or until lentils are tender. Stir while cooking.
4. In a food processor or using a hand blender, reduce mixture to a smooth, even puree.
5. Transfer the mixture to an airtight container and let cool in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
