I’m 41 years old and I am on the Pill because my cycle has been irregular. I have spotting between periods. The doctors say my hormone levels are normal. Is there a product that could help me?

As long as you’re on the Pill, there isn’t much I can recommend to stop the bleeding between periods (metrorrhagia). Usually, women who have metrorrhagia produce too much estrogen in comparison to progesterone.

An excellent plant to deal with this problem is Vitex  because it helps the pituitary gland regulate the production of these two hormones. It takes up to three months to feel the full effect, but people usually see a marked improvement after two months.

If you’re still noticing spotting by the second or third month, you could add one capsule of indole-3-carbinol (broccoli extract) per day.  Vitex is excellent for those experiencing fertility problems.

NOTE: Vitex can’t be combined with the Pill because it reduces the the Pill’s effectiveness.
