Why is there kelp in Herbamare^® and where does it come from?

This marine alga is a natural source of iodine, which means Herbamare® is naturally iodized.

The giant kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera) we use comes from the coastal waters of Chile. Every batch is carefully examined before use to screen for heavy metals, pesticides and aflatoxin. Plus, ever since the Fukushima nuclear disaster, it's also checked for radioactivity.
